One could argue that "success" in family life is harder to achieve than success in public life. Sandy Lewis' success has been making an incredible life for her son Max. Max has Downs Syndrome and now at 15 he has achieved Hollywood fame. He appeared in Notes on a Scandal playing opposite Cate Blanchett and now has plans to become an actor.

Max's condition has thrown many obstacles in the way of family life but has enriched it in the same measure. Sandy's determination to create a positive life for Max has seen her challenge government and local authorities in the way they allocate provision for children with disabilities. Max will never be able to live independently and when he turns 18 funding for his care and services will be withdrawn. Sandy has written a book "Living with Max" chronicling life with Max.
