Rebecca Adlington

Rebecca Adlington is a British freestyle swimmer. She became a household name during the 2008 Summer Olympics when she won two gold medals in the 400 m and 800 m. Rebecca broke the world record in the 800 m final which had stood for 19 years, the longest standing swimming world record.

Adlington is the first British swimmer to win two Olympic gold medals since 1908 and Great Britain's most successful Olympic swimmer in 100 years.
