The ‘UK Lowe Syndrome Trust’ was founded in 2000 by Lorraine Thomas. Lowe Syndrome is an incurable children's disease which affects the brain, eyes, kidneys, bones and muscles sadly leading to a short life expectancy.

Lorraine Thomas is the driving force behind the charity, working full time voluntarily, raising funds to support vital medical research into the disease.

The charity is extremely small but has become the main charity in the world funding research in the hope of better treatments and a cure of the disease.
