Joanna Lumley is an inspiration; she demonstrated her determination during the Ghurkha veterans’ campaign.

She tirelessly rallied and met with the Prime Minister to convince the Government to allow all Ghurkha veterans to settle in the UK (those serving after 1997 had already been granted permission). On a visit to Nepal, Joanna was hailed 'Daughter of Nepal' by crowds who had gathered to greet her.

Her style icon status was obvious back in the 1970s when her Purdey hairstyle became the ‘must have’ of the decade.
