Emma Thompson is an award winning actress, screenwriter, Greenpeace activist and a patron of the Refugee Council.
Emma won the ‘Best Actress’ Oscar for her performance in ‘Howards End’ in 1992. She also won an Oscar for ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ for her adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’.
In January, with other Greenpeace activists Emma bought land in a village, which is under threat from the proposed third runway for Heathrow Airport, in the hope that this would prevent expansion.
