Actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson has won multiple acting awards including the ‘Best Actress’ Oscar, BAFTAs, and an Oscar for ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ for her adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’. Her films span four decades and include the Harry Potter film series and Nanny McPhee series.

Last year Emma with other Greenpeace activists bought land in a village which was under threat from the proposed third runway for Heathrow Airport, in the hope that it would prevent expansion.
