Christine faced negative press and scrutiny in 2006/2007. She remained diligent and professional at all times throughout her ordeal. When Christine took to the track in Beijing she had a point to prove, the world watched as she stormed the 400 metres and won gold.

Her victory in the Beijing Games was a major personal triumph for Christine. Her determination and sheer tenacity show great strength of character.
